Alastair Bateman

Alastair (Ali) is a strategic, values-led consultant who loves to see people and teams flourish through clear direction, aligned roles, and healthy cultures. He partners with organisations that exist for the common good, helping them clarify vision, build strong leadership, and deliver sustainable growth. Ali recently served as Chief Executive of the Church Mission Society, which he led for six years through a period of significant transformation.

Before that, he was Chief Operating Officer of Resurgo, a charity that supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds into sustained employment through data-driven coaching programmes. Earlier in his career, he was a Director at Tearfund and a management consultant with blue-chip organisations. A natural encourager and instinctive strategist, Ali is passionate about drawing out potential, fostering collaboration, and enabling high-performing teams. His consulting approach blends relational insight with analytical rigour to help organisations flourish and achieve lasting impact.
